Roberto Lucanero’s accordion is a dance instrument because it is an instrument that dances. It is also the instrument of the globalised world of today and tomorrow, and in the noblest sense, it is a circular site where the ways of sharing, meeting and being free increase quantitatively and qualitatively.

Seen in this light, the accordion, as Lucanero’s experience shows, is the instrument most suitable for the new “on the road” model of performing, because it can be played anywhere, from a field to the bridge of a ship, from the street to the drawing room, from the underground to the concert hall. This is why it is the instrument for folk music, and for folk music throughout the world. That’s not all: making music is for Lucanero a way of knowing the past and making it live in the contemporary world. Lucanero knows himself, expresses himself though his accordion, and in one all-embracing motion, projects himself into the outside world making people happy.
