Roberto Lucanero is frequently invited to lecture on musicology in Italy and abroad. One of his lectures is entitled “The relationship between the diatonic accordion and the Marche”, the subject of his degree thesis, and also of an essay entitled "The diatonic accordion and the Marche", included in the book entitled “Le vie armoniche” (The routes of harmony), published by Placida Staro, Udine, Nota 2003. Another topic he handles is the “Organology of the accordion”, and their respective musical repertoires. His lecture dedicated to “The History of the accordion in the United States of America” is powerful and very original. All the lectures given by Lucanero are likely to be even more animated by live musical performances, listening to rare records, photographs, catalogues and old record covers, exhibitions of vintage accordions from his own private collection, and accordions that have been dissected.
